I'm set to run a marathon in less than two weeks and the current forecast calls for 82F(65% humidity) at the start dropping to 76F by the finish. The marathon starts at 7pm. Obviously these are not ideal conditions. My recent training and racing suggests a 2:42-2:45 or 6:10-6:17pace. Given the forecast how should I adjust my pace? I have a Daniels spreadsheet that indicates a 2:45 marathon at 60F would translated to a 2:50-51 at 80F. It's also worth noting that I sweat a lot and thus don't deal with the heat very well. It's my only chance at a 2012 BQ. This complicates my situation because I'd like to run fast enough to sign up on Day 1 (Sub 2:50) to make sure I'm in, but don't want to push it too hard and risk the DNF. Any thoughts? What should I expect? Any advice on staying cool and hydrated? Thanks.
