Granted only in his 3:32.35 shape. I think for A 3:49 miler, 1:47 is on the slow side, even as is 1:50.5 for a 4minute guy. I'd love to see what the calc's have to say!

1:47.xx when he ran that 1500m. If focusing on the event, sub 1:44 (Like Auitaj).
Yeah, probably 1:47mid-high.
Glad to see a fellow advocate of alliteration on the boards.

Yes 1.47 maybe he was even capable of 1.46 in the ideal race, at his peak. I'm sure he was capable of 3.30 or even just under.
Geb ran 1:46 in practice. I am confident Bekele could atleast go that fast.
It was Mottram, not Gebreselassie.
A better question might be: who could run the faster 800, Mottram or Bekele?
Easily 1:45 if he got in a good race. People in here are always talking about lower pbs, but they are not accurate because these guys don't run lower races when they are peaked.
buster surely, at his peak.
In a BBC interview he said 48, 1:48, and 3:32.
