5000 WR because it is run more often creating more a chance for the record to be broken
The answer is:
C. Daniel Komen's 3000 record
7:58.61 "only" translates to 7:23.2 so komen underperformed there. My vote goes to bekele.
this.
I think the 5k is slightly better. But it is a lot closer than the 2mile record.

1500 WR - 54.93 pace
3000 WR - 58.76 pace
5000 WR - 60.59 pace
10,000 WR - 63.10 pace
Half Marathon WR - 66.42 pace
Marathon WR - 70.52 pace
How about the 10,000 record? Only 2.51 seconds slower per 400 than the 5k.
I think the order goes:
Bekele's 10k > Komen's 3k > Bekele's 5k > Komen's 2 mile

The 5k record is better than the 10k. And Bekele has failed to beat the 3k record so I would say that is better than both.

This is an interesting way to break down the records. It's amazing how much of a difference 3 seconds/lap makes.
He hasn't broken the 1500m or marathon so those are also better?

Super argumentation! Bekele doesn't have broken any records (not counting indoors) apart from 5k and 10k - with your argumentation, these two records are the weakest.
My ranking is: 5k > 10k > 3k > 2 miles

Actually, I'll take Komen's INDOOR 3000m record.
I vote for the 2000m record as the best distance record. Unless the 800 is considered. As for the op's question, it's the 5000. Not even close.
They are all impressive. It's hard to see any of them going down. Also, Saif Saaeed Shaheen's 7:53.63 steeple deserves to be in the conversation.

Is the half more impressive than we thought, or is the full not as impressive?
