Yes Rupp can set a PB. But I recall the DL event last year at Gateshead where the WINNING time was about 13 flat. He may have to wait until Monaco to go sub 13.

Wow. Krum pacing something that isn't 800 or 1500? I didn't think he had the strength for an event like this. I'm guessing he's just staying in for a mile or so.

Is this going to be streamed online anywhere? Or will Universal have tv coverage?

I like how put thought into both spellings of "favo(u)rite" but you spelled Galen, Rupp, Craig, Mottram, and Farah all wrong. Nonafrican's not a word either...

Why the heck would we hope for that?! Why not hope for an exciting race, fast times, and everyone to put in their best possible effort. I have no trouble hoping for your favorite runner to win or something like that (I'd LOVE to see Rupp win in 12:56) but why do we have to hope a non-African wins?!?!

well he did run a 3:31.93 for 1500, so i guess he has to have some strength endurance.

Krum's a good pacer providing that the rest of the field follows him.

kenya has its trials on july 16th i guess that is why there are so few kenyans in paris and birmingham this week, though some top kenyans are scheduled to run asbel kiprop at 1500, mercy cherono at 5k a few good steeplers on the mens side.

only 1 kenyan in the 5k and with a personal best of only 13:09 maybe he could not get into their trials, i dont know.

also 1 thing that could stop rupp from going sub 13 is ethiopians often like to sit and kick and not force the pace.

Farah and Rupp are both apparently in sub-13:00 shape, and will no doubt be competitive regardless of the pace. Farah for the win, Rupp runs a PB and is within 4 seconds back!

Yenew Alamirew is now entered here. This could make this race very interesting, as Alamirew can kick as well or better than Merga and Farah. Alamirew ran "only" 13:02 earlier this year, but he did run 3:50 at Pre and if he follows smartly it could be a helluva last lap...

I see Rupp getting mushroom-slapped. Maybe 13:08, at best.

I hope that this is the summer that Galen grows up and runs regardless of conditions and gives his best effort; the bull**** about it ruining his training for weeks or months is exactly that!!!!!!!

i say rupp goes 13:03 in birmingham sunday, then runs 12:57 in monaco on july 22nd.

I have no faith in Rupp. If he couldn't beat old lagat and big solinsky at usa's, he has no chance in an international field...

Letsrun will be cheering mainly for Mottram. He's more "American-born" than Rupp.
