I buy my running shoes at the local running shoe store owned and operated by runners. They usually have more choices, other running-related products, etc. than the the big chain stores like Footlocker.
The thing that I kind of just tolerate though is that the person helping me always wants to see me walk toward them and then away with shoes on and off and then they always comment on the type of shoe that would be good for me and so on (it's usually a woman, so no "he's looking at your butt" comments are necessary). Pretty much after having been a runner for 20 years, I know what shoes I want, and pretty much I am looking for feel more than anything. No disrespect meant toward these running shoe people. I'm sure that many get great advice from them. Not sure I need it at this point though.
So the question is - Do you find this extra bit of "help" helpful or annoying?
