The taunting down the home stretch is getting old though.

Then run faster.
taunting? She checked over her shoulder to see if anyone was coming on and smiled because she was happy.
Maybe you're right, but I'm a Hasay fan.

Taunting? You're out of your mind. A girl can't smile when she realizes she is going to pull off the historic double? Egads... chalk this up as yet another example of idiotic letsrun posters and their compulsions to be illogically critical of EVERYTHING our top runners do.
Yay, a Foreigner wins a distance event. Like very other distance event at the NCAA except for Centro, and the Women's 10,000.
Awesome running by Sheila Reid.
Ummm...Women's Steeple?
It's not like it's some Africans, who are raised in a culture all about running, Canadian runners are born and raised in pretty much the exact same conditions as the Americans, and train in a similar fashion. Reid is just an example of someone who worked really hard to do great things, just like all the other American distance runners who are trying to "live the American dream."
Sheila Reid has developed into an excellent runner. It doesn't matter what country she comes from. She puts the sweat and guts into it, and she gets rewarded.
I find it funny how some people will bash International athletes, and then you come to find out that the reason is because their favorite athlete got beat by the International athlete.
If you took a poll, what percent of NCAA coaches would say they would take an athlete like Sheila Reid in their program? I think the answer would be 99%. There will be one or two idiots who would say no. And these guys either have job security, or they will be looking for their next job real soon. Way to go Sheila!
Sheila Reid won because she's a Cicada.

Bingo!
Well, that, plus she speaks a readily understandable kind of English...
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
