I'm a high school senior with an open 800m PR of 1:54.4, & 1:52.4 relay split. I plan to go to college at maybe rutgers university or penn state university, how much lower do I need to go to receive some sort of athletic scholarship? SAT: 1900, GPA: 3.6 (4.0 scale)

if those stats are truly accurate, you can easily walk on at a D2 or D3 school. Way too late for a D1 scholarship, I think. If you act fast, you might catch on at a place like Shippensburg, which has a deep team and great coaching. Get ahold of coach Steve Spence. You might be able to earn some aid for your sophomore year, but if you're very lucky you can get into the school now (or for January) and walk on to the team.

Is a sub 1:50 time required?
If you go run a 1:43, someone will find a way to get you in there.
An open time of 1:52 would likely secure you some scholarship money, if you weren't so late.
1:54.4 is fast enough to get money from smaller D1 schools...even this late in the year. Check out the NEC schools...Robert Morris, Saint Francis PA, Monmouth...etc.
Is it possible he means senior as in rising senior, so he has one more year of HS before college?
