Current PR is a 1:59.7 in the 800. I run about 22-25 miles a week, and I focus primarily on the 800 right now. I do my workouts on a dirt track in trainers, and unfortunately for me it always seems to get quite windy during my workouts. I felt like I had to specify this since many runners do their workouts in spikes and on a rubber track.
Workouts:
8x200 at 29-30, break is a walk back to the 200 mark.
8x200 at 29-30, jogging 200 in between
4x600 at 1:47 with 3 minute break, I felt these were quite easy.
3x200 and 3x400 alternating, 200's at 29/30, 400's at 65. 3 minute rest in between, 5 minute break between sets.
4x400 at 65, 3 minute walking rest in between.
6x300 at 45, 2 minute walking rest in between each, 5 minute rest every 3.
3x500 at 1:25, 2 minute walking rest between each, rest in between, followed by 3x300 at 45-47.
So what do you guys think? I set my PR by running nearly even splits the whole time, however it seems that positive splitting results in faster times. If I want to hit that 1:57/1:58, what would help me more?
