You obviously haven't ever read his books... Lance drinks quite a bit. However, I'm pretty sure he doesn't drink that much during heavy training (I'm sick of people arguing that drinking somehow helps them).
lance won't win the tour this year. you can bet on that. he's found a new chick and lacks the focus. i hate to see it, but hey, why not be happy for the guy? he's dating cheryl crow!
dude, cheryl crow is old and wrinkly, his x is hot..Lance made a huge mistake... but I do agree he will not win the tour this summer, as much as I'd like to see it.
In one of his books, Frank Shorter mentioned he drank about a half liter of beer the night before the '72 Oly Marathon. Not too bad of results.
Lance will win. I do not know if you guys remember, but lance received a stomach flu 3 weeks before the 2003 tour... lost a substantial amount of training, and still won by a minute. Lance will win the 2004 Tour de France.
He "received" a stomach flu?
Who sent ot to him? Was it for his birthday? Or just a gift for no good reason?
considering they consume 6-8000 calories a day, i don't think a few beers will make a difference.
like the saying in 'once a runner': if the fire is hot enough, anything will burn...or something like that.
Maybe he is lacking focus, but it seems to agree with him: Lance has already won FOUR races this year, which is a considerable improvement on any of his previous five TdF winning years. Far from lacking focus, he seems almost too focused and has admitted he may need to slack off a bit, so as not to peak too early.
She's hot and you would pay to have sex with her.

Lance's main rival hasn't exactly been lighting it up this year. Ullrich seems to have spent another winter doing...well...not enough.

I'm sure the EPO breaks it down rather nicely!
Ullrich is in great shape. He is usually fat and out of shape in March but he is very light and fit right now. His race results haven't been great but the top guys alot of times will not show their fitness this early. Believe me, he's in great shape and he will be a factor more so than last year.
There are also 2-3 other Americans on other teams that will be pushing Lance this year as well. It will be the most exciting tour ever! Lance will need all the experience and fitness he has to win this year. Hopefully he can pull it out. His team is going to have to be the best its ever been for him to win.
Yeah, I would like to see Lance and Hamiltion to duke it out for the title.
Spains Iban Mayo will be there or thereabouts and USA's Bobboy Julich is a completely different man this year. Look for him to do something.
Lance still my favourite though
Ullrich really isn't in good shape. Last year, when he was superb at the TdF, he won a race in April and was finishing stages respectably placed. This year, he has had problems even finishing stages. Whether this is because he is over weight or just under trained, I can't judge. But even he has said he's misjudged things and has withdrawn from all racing until June to go on "a training blitz." Which is playing with fire because it only takes an illness or a fall to really set him back.
There are several riders who may challenge Armstrong in the mountains, including the wonderful Iban Mayo. Unfortunately, this year, there is a monstrous time trial in the penultimate stage where Mayo and other climbers could well lose in excess of five minutes to Armstrong.
Hamilton is a good bet for a podium finish but he's going to have to show form he's never shown before at an age no one has ever shown it to win outright. But I wish him luck. The other American is Levi Leipheimer, whom the course favours, and if the big names crash or fall ill, he could perhaps reach the podium.
I hope Ullrich pulls himself together because it could make for an epic battle but the lay out of the course gives Armstrong a clear advantage (an uphill time trial where Armstrong could win by two minutes or more.)
I don't think big Jan is in such good shape, and it's nearly may so he needs to get his act together or he'll be usurped by Vino for team leader (who's been tipped for the tour since his younger days)
Lance has gotta be favourite & i agree he has many distractions going on in his life, if he wants to win the TDF as im sure he does he'll be hard to beat. 6 is unprecedented and Tyler should be a strong challenger too.
She(Crow) may be older than me, but she is far from wrinkly. If given the chance, I would do her.
That was 2.5 liters before the '72 oly marathon, not .5.
Beer is not going to make you a worse runner, alone. But is sure as hell also is not going to make you a better runner. If however you devlope a problem it will make you worse at all aspects of life.
There is this mind set, that some pro's get into. That they have to prove they are not total tea-totalers. And they do this via drinking. It is like ''look guys, I am not a total stiff shirt. Well I think is is stupid, and shows WEAKNESS. It is an atempt to define who you are using the feelings of others.
Anyone who is truly cool, might or might not drink. But if they do, they sure as hell do not feel any need to make an issue of it.
