As of now predicted temps are 81 degrees. Anyone from Vermont, have any good news for Sunday?

i am running the race, and i've lived in vermont a long time.
the weather forecast this far out is useless. don't start fretting until thursday or friday.
i've been training in very cold/cool temps all winter/spring, so if it's hot, i'm dead.
good luck to you sunday.
High temps are hit around 3 in the afternoon. Are you planning on walking? I doubt it will crack 70 by the time you finish. Not ideal, but not heat stroke conditions.
NWS saying partly sunny, 75 with 30% chance of showers, coming off of a low of 56. Figure it won't warm up quickly in the morning unless the sun is mostly free in the mornings. Lake may keep it cooler too.
Or it could be steamy and sunny and humid. Check back in 3 days.
Awesome thanks for the info. I hope to be finished a little after 10:30, so it sounds like I won't have to worry about the high for the day. Either way, I'll take your advice and not worry about it till later in the week.
I agree with the above comment about the value of forecasts at this point, particularly since the weather has been pretty unsettled here. That being said, the forecast is looking pretty good right now: high of 72 and possible showers. The mornings are still pretty cool, too.
If the actual day is anywhere close to that forecast, it should be a good day to run fast.
From the BTV area forecast discussion this morning.
"A RATHER WET PATTERN WILL THEN PREVAIL ACROSS THE NORTH COUNTRY
THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...AS INDICATED BY LATEST GFS AND ECMWF.
POSITIVELY TILTED UPPER TROUGH WILL MAKE ITS WAY SLOWLY FROM THE
MIDWEST TO THE EAST COAST...WHILE SERIES OF SHORTWAVES RIDE
NORTHEASTWARD OUT OF THE OHIO VALLEY REGION. QUASI-STATIONARY
FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL REMAIN IN PLACE OVER THE NORTHEAST...DRAPED
ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK AND NORTHERN VERMONT. THIS WILL SERVE AS
FOCUS FOR PRECIPITATION. PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES INCREASE TO
AROUND 1.6 INCHES...WITH AXIS FOCUSED IN ST LWR VLY. THIS WILL
RESULT IN THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME AREAS OF MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY
SHOWERS AND POSSIBLE THUNDER.
GFS/ECMWF DIVERGE LATE IN THE FORECAST PERIOD. HAVE TRENDED CLOSER
TO GFS...WHICH INDICATES CONTINUED CHANCE FOR SHOWERS SUNDAY DUE
SHORTWAVE AND COLD FRONT MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. CHANCE OF SHOWERS
DECREASES MONDAY AS UPPER RIDGE BUILDS ACROSS THE MIDWEST AND HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE AREA."
Choosing the GFS over the ECMWF - that's crazy talk!

I ran there in 1992. Drove up the day before temps in the 90's.
Morning of the race snow shower 38 degrees.

Hodgie-san, that was FANTASTIC. Thank you.
Looks steamy. Should be 70-72 for the faster finishers. Cloudy though.
Bart Yasso and kettle corn: two perennial fixtures at that damnned race.
Zeke Zucker is always around, too.
And the Taiko dudes. Too funny. Spot on essay!
NWS forecast is getting steamier. Low 80's on Saturday and 81 on Sunday.

Hahaha, I have run it twice and really enjoyed the essay.
I ran that hippie marathon a few times. The leftist kumbaya nature of that town makes me sick. Let's all hold hands and run it together. A giant conga line of love and tolerance.
above poster is a DB. burlington is the greatest small city on the planet.
ok, the forecast keeps getting worse. it's going to be 70 degrees at start time and likely near 80 by finish time with a high of 85.
not good.
very disappointing after training through record snows in the winter and record rains in april.
of course there's nothing that can be done. i wish everyone a good race.

Don't be a puss.
Watch out for the Danimal on Sunday.
Hey, is Wardian running it this year? That dude runs a lot of marathons.

If he is tell him to look at the front of the Danimal's singlet before the gun fires, because after that he'll be looking at the back of it for the duration of the contest.
