Guilt or innocence aside, what is his strategy and how does this play out? Does he know that physical evidence will never surface and it will always be he said/she said? He continues to vehemently and aggressively deny all the allegations, is it only going to make him look worse if hard evidence evidence ever surfaces.

Delay being found out until people stop caring or until the statute of limitations runs out.
Is he being investigated or has he testified about his use?
If not, he can just deny all the way.
If so, he can follow the Barry Bonds plan and move on.
If he is the target--he will not be called in front of grand jury--if gov decides they have a case they will go for indictment on (fraud, trafficking)---if granted a trial looms----decision time---if it goes to trial and others testify, his rep, whatever remains, will be destroyed even if acquittal. So I think once/if his legal team decides a trial is coming, they go for the no jail/full confession plea and launch full scale PR assault based on cancer fundraising and everyone else was doing epo as well....this strategy may be compromised if his endorsements have drug clawbacks as wel as civil liability to landis Hamilton etc for slander now that truth is out
If there is not enough for trial, gov may do the baseball dog and pony show before congress, have landis, Hamilton, hincapie testify, then force lance to take the fifth to "prove" his guilt
Honestly, all of these "trials" are such a frickin' waste of money. Who the f cares if Lance juiced? Doesn't matter to me if he did. Just like it doesn't matter to me if Barry's head grew bigger because he was on something. It just doesn't matter.
Assuming Lance doesn't get caught in a lie to investigators or something stupid like that, can he be convicted without hard evidence? Basically can he be convicted of trafficking or using if it's just a few of his teammates word and not a blood sample?
Simple, take the 5th, no jury would convict him on hearsay testimony. They wouldn't even convict Barry Bonds, he convicted of lying to a Grand Jury.

He really needs to come clean. In all seven his TDF victories, the 2nd & 3rd place finishers (with exception of one) has been busted for PEDs. He really expects us to believe everyone else was using but not him? And he beat them consistently? Right... Now tell me the one about the 3 little bears, it's more believable.
Also, those that keep saying he's innocent because he never failed a test, Marion Jones NEVER failed a test either. Yet we all know that she was using.

Maybe he really believes he was just taking "vitamins"? If he tells himself that enough times, he'll come to believe it. If Dr Ferrari marks the bottle 'vitamin B,' then he's just taking his daily vitamin B. right?
I think the problem that I have with this is that Congress is getting involved. 1/2 those schmucks are criminals and tax cheats, so who are they to preside over testimony?
There is no hard evidence because any hard evidence they have found can not be used if it was not handled properly. In America there are standards for how evidence is handled and I beleive this is how justice is done. The fact remains that Lance has never tested positive. And those that say he doped are not credible becasue they have already proven that they are liars in the past. Did he dope? Like any honest juror is instructed to do, I will judge him on the acceptable evidence that is provided. That is how I beleive guilt or innocence is decided. For those who make judgements based on tests that were improperly handled or testiomony from liars or convited cheaters I can only hope that they are never forced to stand trial in a court that does not practice justice.
