I wonder if there's something we don't know. Like if German has had further injury issues and missed training, but is sick of people talking about it and sounding like he always had excuses. He had a solid top 10 finish in XC. If his training was solid through winter, there's no reason he shouldn't be in form. He's proven before he doesn't need anyone to pace him to run good times, so it would be nice to see him just take it out in 13:30 pace and hold it, win or not, to get a qualifying time. Because it seems like there's a good chance he won't get the time needed for the 1500.

I don't think Fernandez will make nationals in any event. Of course the simpletons on this forum will continue to claim it's all a part of the great coaching and master plan of Smith at OSU.

That's a formidable group of 4 from Colorado with Bosshard, Wacker, Tebo, and Medina all running between 13:34-13:44. Not sure if Tebo and Medina (though both terribly inconsistent throughout their collegiate careers) have any eligibility left for the fall...if so they should be tough in xc.

In all...especially with OSU, OU, and CU the Big 12 currently has a talented pool of distance runners.

Dave Smith does not want German to make USATF's because he may consider going pro before German can help him win 1 or 2 more cross country titles. Ridiculous not having German compete at USATF's for experience before the Olympic Trials. He finished 4th or 5th freshman year in 5000; if Solinsky and maybe Teg move to 5k, German should absolutely be thinking he can make the Olympic team. Instead, he is running "tempo run" cross country races!

Pretty sure they'll shove everyone on the track into one heat, and the entry list will scratch down quite a bit following the 10,000, steeple, and 1500.

He is 20 years old... even if he doesnt do shitt for 2 more years, I still wont be worried.

his future is in 6 years not right now. 20 years old is an age when you get injured very easily, it is the toughest time to be consistent, but in 3 more years he will be fine, he will be a man ready to get his 100 miles weeks.

Colorado will join the Pac 12 next year...West Region becoming even more stacked

I am fairly certain that the regional allignment doesnt change, so portland/oregon/stanford will still be your perennial top 3. However, Pac-ten is gonna be pretty nuts. not super deep but ridiculous for those 3 monster teams

You are not serious... Does any other conference split their teams for a regional? The Region alignment is not by location by by conference.

People still talk about German? Who cares...

My conference (NEC) has teams go to the northeast and mid-Atlantic regional meets

Assuming you're not a contrarian troll I'm not aware of, I'll bite. Pretty much every major conference other than the current Pac 10 is split up at XC regionals. Unless there is some realignment taking place, Colorado will remain with the other "altitude" schools for XC regionals.
