Absolutely amazing. Here I sometimes have trouble motivating to get out the door in a perfect environment and those guys are risking everything.

They almost got shot in one of their training runs while the dude was recording.

If I wanted to see where a 14:21 guy runs I would just watch myself.

These people have nothing to loose. It makes no difference. If you are living in Africa with all their tremendous IQ and development, the only way out is through sports. They are running away from poverty. I have no idea why these people have 13 kids to live miserable lives with no hope. It is funny that the white people in the USA, with all its developmetn and being a first world country, can not even have an average of two kids. Same thing as in Europe.

There is no Italian coach helping them, not yet. Wait until they get their regular supply of EPO and other goodies, they will be winning races all over the world.

Definitely try to make contact with these boys and figure out if there is a way you can set up some kind of a money and equipment donation method. I know these boards are full of assholes (myself included at times), but I'll bet a lot of Letsrunners would step up and help out.

Just don't do like my local runner's club that donate used running shoes to the runners in Guatemala. You put 300-500 miles on your shoes and then donate them to some poor people in the third world. How helpful! I bet these runners in Guatemala are so happy with all their new injuries,especially knee problems.

I would be happy to donate some running equipment or money if needed!

I am ashamed that I take running for granted here, while they risk their lives.

You are correct. In fact, I'm not even sure donating new shoes would be advised because we don't know what kind of shoes these guys are used to or what their feet are like, etc. Perhaps Rojo and Wejo could do a little research and figure out exactly what kind of help these runners could use. Money for traveling? Clean water? Watches? Shorts and singlets? I'm just spit-ballin' here.

also shoes with "300-500" miles on them are not going to injure a fit runner. My current shoes are at 1300 and still going strong

Wow. What an awful place to train. Running must be the only thing that gives those guys hope, though.
