Hey everyone. I am going to be a freshman in college next year and am hoping to walk on to the cross country team. I am currently injured, and for much of the summer I will only be able to run once a week. However, I have pretty much unlimited free time and can bike, swim, elliptical, and lift as much as I want every day. I would like to try and get in the equivalent of 70-80 miles a week of cross training. So what should I do? Also, what would you recommend for the one day a week I can run? The injury is very bizarre, and I don't feel like explaining it, so just take my word that I can run once and only once a week. I was thinking something like 70 minutes elliptical every day in addition to 40 minutes in the pool or 60 minutes on the bike every day. And then for the one running workout, alternate between a 6-8 mile tempo run and 1k repeats. Thoughts? I am open to anything.
