Teg, Nelson 27:28, 13 under 'A' standard!

Mission accomplished - congrats to Teg, Nelson and all of the Americans who got the standard!!!

when curtis and st. Lawrence went around teg they looked like they were hurting alot more than him. He look way to relaxed those last two laps and didn't really go for it.

karoki made an incredible move, gapping the field by five seconds very quickly, and he sustained it the last two miles. teg pushed the pace at a crucial point and then the other guys had a lot more left than he did, but he was well under his aim. we'll see how much stronger he is in two months.

teg did real good in a 10k especially after all the years of teasing he got.

Great run for Tegenkamp. It seems like he'll be capable of, at the very least, eventually going under Meb's old standard of 27:13.98, if not Solinsky's 26:59.

Perfect night , they should all run fast. In a real race situation , surges , warmer weather , non of these guys are capable of anything outside of making a team , not a final.

You are so wrong - when people are just running to get the standard and do it easily with little effort, they have much left for a real race situation!!! Teg can definitely run much faster.

Where was Solinsky?

I think a lot of credit should go to Korir of Iona. He took about 6 laps for that group. They all sat on him and never really helped out. Although Sambu beat him tonight I think things will be different in 6 weeks

Can't remember if Solinski's 26:59 was a debut, but, if so, would Teg's 27:28 be the 2nd fastest American debut at 10k?

And what happened to Tahri? He looked smooth for a good bit of the race. Guys that look smooth and still die (Tahri, Teg) make it hard to tell if they're going to grab the race by the neck or free fall to the back.

And then you have St Lawrence - he looked like a sure candidate to get dropped initially but he kicked hard in the end. Makes me wonder how much effort Teg and Tahri really gave to this race, especially with Teg's comments after the race.

Could they have truly gone harder, I think so. Watch the last lap for Tahri. He hits the brakes hard.

He paced them through 5k.

More credit for Karoki, please. All these other chumps were also-rans. Karoki jogged 6800 m looking around at the hotties in the bleachers and then got down to business while all the other nambies jockeyed for 10+ sec behind. WC gold medalist in the works.

He ran a 10000 in 2003 at a college meet.
