I went to Olive Garden around mid-afternoon the day before a 10K invite. Had the potato/sausage soup, several breadsticks, and two bowls of pasta with meat sauce (I got the never-ending pasta bowl). Bad idea! The next morning, the stomach wasn't feeling well. I felt like my insides were going to explode during the entire race. I felt so full that I didn't bother eating for the remainder of the day.
