I'm a first year college runner, and we were in a team nutritional meeting the other day where the head specialist was talking about general ways to stay healthy in order to help training.
She said something about caffeine and then went on to say that if you drink more than two cups of coffee, you will fail a NCAA drug test because you will test positive for high amounts of caffeine.
I find this completely ridiculous.
I understand that there are people that will say that coffee is terrible for you and that you should never drink it. However, others will say that amount of coffee will prevent different types of cancer.
I also find this troubling because if you were to eat chocolate covered coffee beans which they sell in many coffee shops, how many would you have to eat before failing a drug test? 15? 20? I know it can't be very many.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
