Badgers run sub 7:30 with 3 frosh and a senior I have never heard of. They did not bring their A team.

To clarify:

Zach Beth fell 250m into the first lap and from there on the badgers worked back up into 5th

and

the team was two 5th year seniors and two red-shirt freshman

One of the freshman placed (5th or 4th) at NCAA Indoors last year, the senior made NCAA outdoors Nationals (i.e., got through Regionals with a really smart and/or lucky race), and the no-name in the group, Hucke, has been comping along quietly but steadily.

This is a quartet that is capable of running 7:15 in the right situation.

All four guys were almost the exact splits, according the announcer of the meet who was reading off the splits, there were all right around 149.9. They all looked strong, considering the last 2 legs were essentially by themselves and its quite difficult to run a fast 800 out there on an island like that. Its also pretty ridiculous that they have 6 sub 150 guys on their team right now, outside of blankenship, who i am sure can run it, as he has a 150 point PR from 2 years ago.

As opposed to Boston, these are "wind-resisted" times. Great performance by the GG's.

Mellon and Beth have both been All-american over 800m indoors, Rucks made Outdoor nationals over 800m last year. Beth is actually a senior with Rucks. I don't know the Huckle kid..

This is their A team I assure you.
