Running in Central Park Without a Shirt?

I live in NYC and do it all the time. Like you said, there is no point of a shirt past a certain temperature and I don't really care what other people do when it's hot, i'm not gonna wear a shirt.

Ditto. I grew up there, now on the other coast. Our high school had an idiotic rule that we weren't allowed on the same block of the school without a shirt on (the penalty was suspension or getting booted off the team for the season or something completely absurd, I think it happened to one kid), so we couldn't leave our shirts in our lockers, we had to take them with us and stash or carry them. I wore mine like a do-rag. I don't think it was terribly attractive, but it was fun.

Of course you can run with no shirt in Central Park, reglardless of weather. People won't care at all, especially in NYC.

The only person that will say anything to you is this one old horse-carriage guy, he always tells runners to "put you shirt back on" in an ornery voice. Maybe it is just entertainment for the tourists he gives rides to.

I understand that you're trying to act tough by not wearing a shirt when it's above 55 degrees, but that's really not all that warm. And with the exception of one or two days, it really hasn't been all that warm yet in NYC. I've run in the park for a few summers now, and trust me that once the hot weather truly arrives, tons of dudes will be out there running without shirts.

There is clearly some taboo against sweaty hairy guys. And maybe that is ok.
