For the loser now will be later to win...
For the loser now will be later to win...
FYI - Sara did not run the marathon on Monday.
Sorry for your confusion.
My point was that someone well back in a hs meet could someday become a great runner. That was what I meant by "later to win", which is a line in a song, after all. It could be inspiring to younger runners, maybe not to you.
It is also ironic that SB's husband and DD were the two top Americans at Boston. So they are connected to both events, 13 years apart.

I think you do not understand the concept of irony.
Ironic is easier to spell than serendipitous.

coincidental?
The haters will say merely felicitous.

Um, why exactly would that video surprise anyone? Sara Bei/Hall= mile/3k runner. Davila= marathoner. Same strengths now as they had in high school.
Which one is Desi?
Why didn't Desi run the 3200?

I believe that Desi beat Sara in the 3k indoors at WC last year and has a better lifetime PR for 3k as well.

The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
Thanks. That's the part of the song I should have quoted.
Actually, Bei graduated from Standford, DD from Az State. Hall/bei wins later, not to mention her husband makes more than both of them combined. Also, sara probably makes more DD.DD is still a bad ass.

Fair enough. As such, the video posting would have made more sense after WC. Either way, Bei is a natural miler/3k runner. Davila's relative strength is obviously over the much longer distances, and there is no doubt that her 3k PR last year came as a result of her monstrous strength/mileage base. Regardless, my larger point still stands: why would it come as any surprise that Bei should beat her every time in the 1600 during hs?
This website is supposed to be about dreams.
Are you so busy looking down your nose,
so busy analyzing, so lacking in spirit,
that you cannot simply see this video as INSPIRING?
That's all it is.
Something for a young unheralded runner to observe, and think,
"Ok, it may take 13 years, but one day I could do something great too."
DD's race on Monday was a blossom on a tree with deep roots.
Behold the roots.
thanks for the video, it's cool see the early years!
they are so adorably slow

Just last week they said the world's oldest man died at 114, and you're saying there are Palestinians who have lived for 7,000 years. Wow!
Palestine has been there for at least 7,000 years.
