I know Boston University has a good indoor track, but do they have an outdoor one?
If they don't, wouldn't they have been better off spending their money on an outdoor track. I mean, they should get their priorities right?
Are there any other schools that are in a similar position ie good indoor facility and poor or non-existant outdoor ones?
Hey, Rube, ever been to New England during the collegiate "spring" season. It isn't particularly speedy. The indoor facility is brilliant, and all that is necessary considering the calendar year.
i agree completely, the indoor track is smarter, athletes run incredible times there and it is very very fast...way faster than you will run outdoor in NE, if we have 7 outdoor meets 2 of them usually have snow on the track, 3 of them are cold and raining, one is too hot, and the other one will be too windy, Outdoor track in NE is not the place to run great times
I parked at the MIT outdoor track this past monday for the boston marathon and i went over to ask what events and what school the go to and some 400meter hurtler( she was hot) said that they all go to BU
I thought BU had some crazy track that went behind a set of football stands. Am I mistaken?
no. BU's outdoor track lacks corners because of the soccer field and one straightaway is now paved( w/ bleachers on it, not for football since we don't have any of that garbage). the AD would resurface it but the paved straightaway would still be used as a service entrance for trucks so there's no point in doing it.
