Think about it. The only story is coming from Letsrun and the rhetoric is sarcastic within the article. And why would Webb leave when he is having success AND in the middle of a World Championship year! Come on Brojos, time to get more creative with the April Fools.
Alan WEBB is NOT leaving Salazar...it is an April Fools Joke.

Came out on March 30th, came from multiple sources, confirmed by multiple sources. -
I think everyone here just wants to it be true, so they are willing to believe anything.

I'm not saying it isn't an april fool's joke, because I still have my suspicions, but you are way off base saying the story is coming only from letsrun. Dave Monti of race results weekly (a very well-respected name) was the one who originally broke the story, with a tweet, after which the subject became fodder for these message boards. Then the brojos "confirmed" the story as true, as did flotrack with a video story by ryan fenton and mark floriani, where it was reported that they had contacted Flynn (webb's agent) for confirmation. It could be a joke, but it would be a huge, well organized and excellently executed joke involving many of the most important outlets of the sport.

http://trackfocus.com/distance/alan-webb-leaving-the-oregon-project#
I spoke with Alberto Salazar Wednesday evening and he told me that Alan Webb’s decision to move out of the Oregon Project and into a another group has been brewing “for about a month.”
This is not an acrimonious split, according to Salazar.
“I have nothing but good things to say about working with Alan,” he said.
The problem for Webb is that he was becoming the odd man out, without a suitable mid-distance training partner. Dathan Ritzenhein is recovering from injury and doesn’t train like a miler even when he’s healthy. Galen Rupp and Mo Farah are certainly capable of doing workouts with Webb, but neither of them ran a step last week. They are emerging from a rest period and will move back into training together.
Salazar said he didn’t know where Webb would land but that he was considering more than one option. That’ll be Webb’s news to reveal.
Salazar said he would continue to offer himself as a resource to aid Webb’s transition to whatever comes next.

Earlier Wednesday, a Nike spokesperson confirmed that Alan Webb is going to leave Salazar’s training group.
Here is Nike’s official statement on Wednesday’s news:
“We can confirm that Alan Webb has decided to make a change in coaches and training groups. He will pursue a group where he can train with more middle distance runners. We wish Alan all the best and continued success as one of the all-time great milers.”

In other words, it's not a joke -
I had always assumed that his move to Salazar was to move to the 5000.
So that group would have worked favorably. -

For your sake, I hope that you are not this stupid in real life. -

Yeah, cause they're never snide or sarcastic in their articles. -

If he was going to switch, this is probably the right time to do so. He realistically needs to get things in gear heading into the Olympics next year. If he doesn't think AlSal is the answer, time to move on. For a guy who ran 3:53 in high school, he seems to be a huge head case at this point (and I defended him after the early indoor races this year)....Head case in the sense that he seems to be getting in his own way at this point (switching coaches after a short period of time seems like a quick trigger although people could argue that Nike made him move to Oregon and give AlSal a try) -

All that tells you is that the brojos have stepped up their game. -
I agree that Webb joining them made sense if he was looking to up his distance to 3k and 5k and then beyond. But it never quite made sense in terms of being a miler. This split makes sense, which is why I doubt it's an April Fool's joke. None of the others are training for the same event as Webb.

And this my friend is the heart of the issue. He lost all credibility with that publicity stunt. -
Here are my splits for an 800: 1st 400: 47, 2nd 400: 96.
What can I run for a 10k? -
yes, he has left Salazar - not an April Fool's joke. The only joke is that he joined him in the first place.

10/10, Good trolling attempt.

This is why April Fools sucks. News of any kind can be doubted for apparently the whole week surrounding April 1.

Sure thing.
He made a promo video for the Bowerman 5K and said he was running it.
There were several prediction threads and then he didn't run it. When questioned later, he said he never intended to run it.
