Here is a link to Coe's near WR run of 3:29.77 in Rieti 86

The clock doesn't appear at all times, but the pacemaker went through 400m in 53.36. Coe went through in 54.0; probably a bit too fast for ideal pacing. He's then left in a bit of a void and receives no drafting for almost a lap, before passing 800m in 1:52.0.
He passes another pacer to go to the front at about 1000m, and then Chesire spurts past him 50m from the bell, causing Coe to slow down (according to his bio) just before the bell (2:34.5 for Coe) Realising that Chesire is slowing and not about to drop out, he runs wide to pass him on the bend, and reaches 1200 in 2:48.1. That's a 13.6 100 segment running wide! He then holds his form well to miss the WR by 0.3. Coe believes had he not had to slow then speed up to pass Chesire, he'd have broken Aouita's WR.
I've had part of the race for a few years now, but there was about 500m (300-800m) missing. It's great to see the entire race finally.
Enjoy!
