For a lot of these athletes its their first meet of the year I imagine. For the college kids they are coming into this as hot and ready as a Little Ceasar's Pizza. One example you mentioned was Jaime [Winslow] who ran only 10 seconds off her all time PR, finishing in 16:17. I think this is a pretty solid start to the season.

Solomon ran real slow the first couple of laps, then found him self about 200m behind, he slowly started making up the deficit, until he was about 100m behind, and the gap to him and the field stayed that way for a few laps, then he just stepped off.

Fernandez is the ley to the ARK distance group, ran a solid 28:48 good enough for a qualifier. Hope the Buck does not run him dry by doubling at SEC before the Regional.

Strange race - what's the deal with qualifying in the 10k? They seemed to be saying that you just need to make regionals and then you qualify for nationals from there. Is that really how it works? Seem odd that they would make everyone who wants to run the 10 at natls run one shortly before, but that would explain why all the college guys went out so slow.

how about ciaran o'lionaird, havent heard much about him, what kind of runner is he/is he any threat at nationals?? he was 13 seconds clear of everyone besides cheseret. dosent seem like too bad of a run, congrats to him.

he is Irish, and has run on an Irish XC team before I think. I believe he was 18th at NCAAs in XC, so I'd imagine him to be a pretty tough competitor, possibly a threat at natls. Yes, it looks to be a very strong run, although not to his full potential. It will be interesting to see what kind of times he will run in the future.
