6th place Blake Shaw of USC (went to high school in Texas). Do you guys realize this kid plays football for USC!!! Crazy talented!!!

Seriously Blake Shaw is quite an athlete. I saw him jog a 4:10 mile and it looked like the easiest thing I have ever seen. We could have the next Andrew Wheating in this Blake Shaw guy.

That's what happens when an 48.8 sprinter in HS goes to USC. He becomes a distance runner because he has to compete with 46/45 HS 400m runners.

Maybe he did start and just drop out after 3 seconds, and it was so pathetic they didn't even bother to put him into the results.

thats pretty much how it went for alan webb. originally a pretty good shorter distance guy but realized "pretty good" wasnt good enough for him.

German actually did show up, and showed up to run. He was prepared physically and mentally, and looked pretty pumped. However, a couple minutes from the start he realized he had forgotten his spikes at home. He flat out refused to borrow another pair, they were of course, his lucky spikes that he always raced in. German refused to run the race in his trainers, the shame would've been unbearable...

Hmm , mentally ? If this post is true , this kid has every excuse in the book covered. These type of antics would be perfect for the Letterman show , "German's top ten excuses for not running ".

He did run sub 1:50 in HS.
