I am a sophomore in highschool with a 2:04 in the 800 and a 17:42 in the 5000. Today I was doing 800x1 with 2 min. rest, 400x2 with 1 min. rest between each, and 200x4 with 30 sec. of rest between each. Before I had begun I felt sluggish and I assume it is because i was sick two days ago and it is spring break so my sleep cycle is off, but i digress. I am about to start and my 3rd 200 and everything starts to get fuzzy and I feel like I have just gotten done with a race, but i finish the workout with a 37 200 anyway ( It is not very good but i was glad i could barely finish any way). Then I started to wonder was it good that I had pushed my body to that point in a workout or was it bad because my body could not handle it? Any help with this question is appreciated.
