Anyone use these? Seems like it might be a good alternative to the over priced Newtons.

Yes, I have a pair and I like them ok. The design is a little strange, especially in the heel, with some kind of carbon-looking stuff and some things that look like ventilation holes. I think they were really designed for triathletes which I'm not, so maybe this is normal?
They run a little big. I'm a 11.5 in Nike and Asics, 11.0 is plenty in this shoe. They weigh about 9 ounces, feel like a cushioned marathon shoe. The toe box is wide and the design doesn't have a strap that comes from the sole to the laces at the bottom, so they don't "lock down" on the toe box very well. I don't know the technical terms for these parts of the shoe but hopefully you know what I mean. Basically the toe box is a little wide and loose. You can tighten the laces to fix this. They are very breathable. Not like th Nike Streak 3, but still pretty good. They are pretty cushioned, as I said.
I'm planning to use them for longer races this summer (10 miles+). For shorter races I might use something a little lighter.
That shoe has little similiarity to a Newton shoe other than the bright color. The idea behind the Newton is to get you on your forefoot with the raised lugs. The Scott appears to be like every other light weight trainer on the market.
Their rep told me it runs a little short, and I would agree. I ended up getting my normal size as a pair of seed shoes and I can't wear them for longer stuff because my toes end up punching the end, especially on downhills. Pretty nice shoe, though I prefer it more as a trainer as opposed to a racing shoe.
