KARMA. I love when Oregon has issues. With the money they spend at University of Nike, anything other than a national championship is a failure.
wow that's terrible. She seemed like she was in the best shape of her life.
I'm not going to say what I hope the problem is because then this thread will get deleted. But I will say that I am a big Paris Hilton fan. I know, I'm a delinquent.

Give us the deets!
In Ken Goe's article he said theres an unverified rumor going around that it is a stress fracture in the back...i sincerely hope not as this is a really alarming injury for a couple reasons.
Does this mean that the first girl out in the 3k and 5k are now in the race?
Nope
Darn. How come?
Crap...yeah, that would suck. Such a bright future ahead of her, get better Alex!!
Can Oregon pull it off still? Hard to imagine they could. Certainly won't be able to screw up anywhere.
Come on Alex,
You can do it.
Come on Alex,
There's nothing to it.

Ditto. It's always unfortunate when an athlete gets injured, but of course the timing made it even worse.
Pics?

Oregon fans are delusional. Just because they are the best on thing in Eugene doesn't mean they will win a national title. Oregon will def see one in the Hep. Mile is likely because most of the girls that can beat Hasay have focused on the 3k, so the race is now Jordan's to lose (Van Dalen and Reid made her first NCAA title much easier). But Youngblood is quite doubtful and Purvis is a pipe dream. She will be lucky to scrape up a few points.
Going around saying people not even close to favorites are going to take home the title it makes it seem like they are failures if they only get 3rd or something, when they are ranked like 8th.

Other than the obvious answer of any injury to the spinal column being very serious, what are your other reasons? I'm interested to hear your speculation.
btw, that picture in the article is quite simply, the worst image of Alex Kosinski I have ever seen. She usually looks better than that at the end of a very tough race when she is in pain. Teh Oregon athletic department photographer who took that should be fired. ;)
