I was at a California High School meet a few weeks ago, and witnessed a college coach from a Pac-10 school taunting a high school runner during his 800 meter race. He was yelling at other runners to "beat him and teach that boy a lesson", and it was very very loud. I was very embarrassed for the kid. I don't why he did this and other coaches were puzzled also. Maybe the kid decided not to commit to that college. I don't know the entire story. But my question is this. When a college coach taunts a kid like this, is it out of bounds? Or is this just fair play of competitive sports? I personally think this college coach was a little bit out of bounds and should not have taunted the high school 800 meter runner..
