I am 42. Used to be a 15:30 5km guy and 4:10 miler. I am in 19min 5km shape but hate mileage.
These days I work a ton and get injured easily.
I commute by bike 30 mins to and 30 mins from work. Three times a week, at the end of my ride in the morning I jump on the treadmill and run 6:30 to 5:30 pace for 10 mins. I plan to increase that to 15 or 20 mins if possible (at 6:30 pace).
That is pretty much all the running I do.
Is this a total waste of time? My thinking is that the biking works my lungs and the fast running reminds my legs how to turnover. I avoid injury by staying off my legs.
