Im a college runner and race the 3k/5k/10k mostly in warm climates (even in the winter). After I race midday, I usually feel pretty dehydrated and lose my appetite for a while (I realize this is normal). However, I always have trouble sleeping after races, I can never seem to find the right temperature and feel like I still have adrenaline. I drink an energy drink with 100 mg of caffeine before I race, but I would think this would wear off by 11pm. Then sunday morning Ill get up and run 15 miles on an empty stomach after 4-5 hrs of sleep. Ill get through the race and long run fine, but then feel trashed for the beginning of the weeks workouts. Anyone else have this problem, or have suggestions to help me recover from races?
