Do you think New Balance is a little angry?

I'm pretty sure NB is invested in Jenny doing well on the world stage. She's done that in the past and in all likelihood will do even more on that level in the coming years. She had a bit of an off year in 2010, but I doubt anyone at NB is regretting their association at all and I'm sure they're psyched to be working with her.

I think when you sign a young female you assume they'll get married and change their name eventually.

I am sure NB is mad that they wasted ALL OF THAT MONEY on a banner. I mean, those banners sure are expensive.

I think NB is quite happy with their investment.

Did anyone else think all the cheering for her during the race seemed fake?

Well, she got married in October and the wedding wasn't exactly a secret. If NB was all THAT worried, they had lots of time to get a different banner printed up.

Whoever hung that banner surely exclaimed as follows:

TV announcers kept slipping from Simpson to Barringer and even commented on it beeing hard to Simpson whilst staring at a Barringer banner.

Jenny Barringer was engaged to be married when she signed with NB and the wedding date was set. So, no it was no surprise to them that she was getting married. lol.

And she got injured, it happens to runners. Good grief.

NB has their new 890 coming out and on the side the men's says "Baddeley" and the women's says "Barringer." Seems like they didn't plan that one out too well.

But maybe it will be a collector's item.

baddelly obvi isnt good enough to warrant having his own shoe, but with london coming up they need to market their biggest british star. they can change barringer on a banner but probably planned the stitching into the shoes a while ago. just bc someone gets married doesnt mean they will change their name. maybe new balance had no idea what she was going to do, and once they have a shoe called barringer they probably decided to keep barringer on the banner bc its the name of the shoe.
