1. I use Vaseline Aloe Fresh moisturizer for my face and as a hair-styling "product."
a) Is it detrimental to use general moisturizers on your face? I have ex-foliation problems and I'm wondering if this is one of the causes. Is it recommended to use a face-specific moisturizer?
b) Can using moisturizer as a hair product be detrimental for your hair (i.e. dry it out or precipitate hair loss)?
2. While I rinse my hair every day, I only shampoo once a week. Given that I run ~50 miles a week my hair starts to smell a bit, but that is not my immediate concern. What I want to know, is whether the accumulation of sweat and natural oils - though keep in mind that I thoroughly rinse it with water every day - be detrimental for my hair (i.e. dry it out or precipitate hair loss)?
I realize this is not running related, but I know that you all come from a variety of backgrounds/professions. I'm guessing a handful of you guys will be able to help me out.
