Hello everyone,
When I run my long runs, I've noticed that late in the run, and especially if I try to push the pace, I develop a hitch in my stride. It is almost like I am having spasms in my hamstrings or something. While I'm running my leg involuntarily juts inward and plants awkwardly every 10 or 15 strides. I have it sometimes in the last 100 meters when I run hard 400m intervals too.
This happened two years ago when I last trained for a marathon too. Fortunately it did not act up during the actual race and I PR'd.
What is going on here? Dehydration? Am I running distances/paces above my training level?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
