Hey everyone..i'm having some weird knee problems and was hoping someone could help me diagnose it.
Took 2 weeks off after thanksgiving..built back up to around 40 a week. About 6 weeks in (about 3 weeks ago) I began having pain in the distal hamstrings area (felt like between rectus femoris and vastus lateralis) It wasn't anything too serious, just a dull pain..could run through. Over the next two weeks it began radiating distally and medially - to the area immediately above the patella and on the medial side. 8 days ago after a long run the pain moved exclusively to the medial side of the patella..it's not a deep pain, almost right on the bone. It worsened to where the pain was noticeable all the time, even walking to class. I took it pretty easy this week, about every other day off. It's now medial to the patella and a little more distal - almost going straight from the patellar ligament. I'm fairly certain it isn't that though. Again, i experience the ache walking around and during the run. It loosens up somewhat towards the end of the run however. Tonight I tried to do some extra stretching and ice and noticed that i'm experiencing some sensory loss as I could hardly feel the ice.
Any ideas as to this problem? It seems to have flared up rather quickly..
Thanks for your help
