Saturday's Northern Cross-Country Champs at Sunderland; always a toughie and conditions deteriated through the day. By the time the senior men got going it was a bit sloppy. A rolling grassland course with a good size hill on a former slag heap.
For all you US xc runners this is proper xc, hills, mud and cool, long spikes required, very slippy in places, lots of falls, cuts, wipeouts. Even the cars in the car park had to be pushed out.
