First he was arrested for threatening to kill his wife and having an illegal fire arm and now this:
Wanjiru also didn't want to be taken to a certain hospital because the press would be all over him.
I guess he didn't splurge on a Range.
Wanjiru is a legend.I recently spoke to the guys he was training with prior to Chicago and they told me the guy was 100% fit coming to chicago,that infact he took advantage of the rumours that were flying around claiming he was unfit to mess with Kabede's race plan and it worked.hen the case aganist his wife was mentioned,most people thought he would be finished .The olympic champion however saw the loopholes and it is now almost a foregone conclussion that he will be cleared of the charges.Never discount wanjiru.

He tried avoiding a pot hole, and managed to keep from going into on coming traffic. It seems Sammy is reasonable okay, which is amazing considering his vehicle rolled several times.
Fame can have a negative affect. It's obvious based on his comment about the press. The guy doesn't have much of a private life anymore.

So who should I be rooting for? Geb is the greatest (on and off the roads and track) but has been a walking excuse for the last couple years, Sammy is definitely a fearless competitor and a great talent but is starting to look like a train wreck. The Americans are improving and I appreciate that Hall has his foundation, but I fear he'd say I'm going to hell (I'm not a Christian) It seems we no longer have a true class act like Tergat, a great champion in athletics and a great champion for mankind.
Who's the real gem out there for 2012?

Wanjiru is the man, he will pull out of this.
Sam Wanjiru for back to back double gold in the 'thon, you heard it here first. This man is a prodigal talent who will not be stopped! Call him whatever you want he is a champion and champions do not go down easy. Haile knew this back in 2008 even when he ducked The Great Kamau at the Olympics.

Just to let you know that Samuel Kamau Wanjiru will be running Virgin London Marathon on 17th April 2011 and also defend his title in USA, where he will be running Bank of America Chicago Marathon on 9th September 2011 on his attempt to break the world marathon record. He had been going through some life storms, where a group of greedy and corrupt individuals framed him on fake charges just to rip him off his hard earned money.
