So I've been curious recently about what pace to go on easy and long runs. I've read Daniel's Running Formula. He says that long and easy runs are more about the time spent running and not about the distance. I also believe he says that you should be able to easily carry out a conversation while running easy and long runs. But the pace with the VDOT that he provides is a little faster than talking pace for me. My brother-in-law (Who does them more at no talking pace) recently did an easy run with Ryan Hall and he said they went "Super easy" (I assume that means talking pace.) So my question is which pace should I try to run my easy and long runs? A pace where I can talk? Or a pace that's easy but I'd rather not talk?
