Thoughts, predictions, etc.

Kara will do bad. No he will not.
Technically, can he win the marathon AND set the 50k?
No doubt he has the ability but I don't know how his health and training stands.
He coasted in Vegas and won

Interesting point. Anyone know the answer? Im thinking he can cos the press about it has him named as favorite for the marathon but Im not sure
Just found this:
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/azetc/articles/2011/01/14/20110114arizona-marathon-josh-cox.html
Guess he can win both? Seems kinds odd to me. Also, I was wondering why theres hardly any big name elites running it this year- $1000 prize money for the full? Pathetic
Kara will do mediocre.. She may well win but it will not be anything impressive. I expect eithe Forest or Crag(that is, if he actually makes it to the finish line) to win the mens half.Dont know anything about the marathon apart from Josh Cox is running it. I suppose he'll probably win it if hes trying to get that record
Anyone kniw how the mens half is going? The race tracker on competitor works fine for the other races but not for it.. RNR twitter says Foreste is in the lead but how about everyone else?
I can see 10-mile splits for men and women in the half. Madai Perez was up almost 2 minutes on Goucher (who was low 56, so probably a 1:13ish finish). Joseph Chirlee had solid lead for men at 10 miles.

Yeh I can see those times but they are not the same as what the RNR twitter is reporting. It says Forest was in the lead at 5k mark whereas the race tracker gives Joseph Chirlee as the leader the whole way through. Also there is no mention of Cragg.. I didnt know he was running but I assume if he is he would be right up there no?
The race tracker looks a little screwy--Chirlee is said to have won the half over Schoolmeester, even though Schoolmeester is said to have averaged faster per mile.
So who actually won it? I am very confused
Alistair Cragg was 2nd in 1:03:20. From a phone source.

not
Josh Cox won the marathon, based on his Twitter feed, and was on pace for the 50k.
He was 2:20:32 when he set the AR... so we are seeing a great effort from Cox.
Cox finished 7 seconds short of the WR.. what a bummer
Still have no idea who won the mens half- Chirlee? Cragg? Forrest? confused.com Its the only result I m actually interested to know
2:43:45!!!!!!!!!1
7-sec off WR
Cox 2:17:32 according to the live results. That's three minutes faster than his AR pace. What is the WR for 50k? That's gotta be one of the softest WR out there.
Hey Really???
You were "really" off. (get it? O you will sooner or later.)
Kara did well, she got second (well for someone who just had a baby and is getting back into shape).
Josh Cox, well he missed the WR, wasnt even close to it. Those 7 seconds, really made your prediction correct, wasnt even close. /sarcasm
Keep your negativeness to yourself
Congrats to JC for giving it a solid effort, falling just short.
Kara Goucher 1:14:03. Not too shabby for her first race back. And with the stress of her child going to the hospital to boot.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
