Has anyone ever done a calculation to determine if there is any difference in effort between running on a treadmill vs. running on the road?
I rarely use the treadmill. But, due to the recent weather, have used one for about three days and feel it is totally different. I usually go out easy in my morning runs, and typically run about 7:15-7:20 pace .
I typically run local certified 5k's in 17:00 flat.
Which is about 5:28 pace right ?
However, when I ran on a treadmill at the local gym, I noticed it seemed much harder. My 7:15 pace felt much faster.I mean I felt like it was an all-out sprint to run one 5:35 on the treadmill.
Anybody know anything about this?
