Neither of those sound especially hard for a 27:18 10k runner.
Where those both the same session? What were the recoveries?
Yea, I don't think that would be that hard even if he did them back to back.
Those seem fast, for us, but you have to remember how good these guys are and how much base they have. They recover so fast.
Most athletes can complete a workout of 10 by a km at their 10k which these workouts were at for Mr Brown, most American are a bunch of Yankers

Based on John Brown's PR, I think he ran 6 x a mile at sub 4:24 with no rest. What am I missing?
