I could use some help. I was in good shape for base season pre injurey. I could easily run 6 minute pace evryday for as long as my coach wanted me to. Until i hurt my foot really bad and have not been able to run for the past week and a half, except for a couple runs but my form was made different.
I went to a doctor(not a sports doctor) and it seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. They just said stay off of it for 2 weeks and take ibuprofen. I asked if i could bike cause i said it doesnt hurt and they giggled and said no(WTF).
So i was wondering a couple things
1)how much of the fitness is safe to say is gone
2)Will biking bring me back/keep me in shape for running if i do it for hour to 2 hours everyday
So obviously im still going to bike and i plan on checking to see if i can run everyday by just doing a quick 200m job. But any workouts(even stuff i can do on the bike) to keep me in shape for as long as my foot has pain.
I will have more time for weight lifting too, so any good exercises you got for runners or abdominal workouts
