Penn State Soph Cas Loxsom blasted a 1:01.2 500 today at home, 2 seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up Lionel Williams. Signs are looking good, hopefully he doesnt get Swine Flu like last winter and screw up his chances in March.
I wonder what some of the other top 800 guys in the NCAA could throw down in the 500, like Andrews, Greer, Foster, Mellon, Primm, Evans, Roller ect

Where is Borchers? I don't see him in the results for any of the events. He didn't graduate already, did he? I thought he had at least one season left.

Borchers ran 8:44 3K prior to Xmas break, I believe.

Dinkins ran 1:01.70 last year. I don't think he ran faster, but I might be wrong.

On the contrary, Borchers has always been pretty horrible (relatively speaking) at anything above a mile, right? I only know him a little bit, but it would not surprise me to see him under 4 for a mile if he is healthy and in the right race. If he gets his mind around something, he can run above his level of fitness. Problem is, he can't get his mind around anything above the mile (and, focused training on the long term has been an issue as well, it seems).

if Borchers is a sub 4 guy this year, they could have a great DMR with Foster on the 12 and Cas.
Even without Borchers they will still be solid with Foster running a sub 4 1500 equivalent last year and Williams and Dawson.
Borchers is one of the biggest POS waste of talent motherf***ers alive.

The AR is 1:00.17; NCAA record is 1:00.82. So 1:01.2 is pretty quick. It's close to NCAA top 10.

Think about it - to run sub-60.00 you just have to run a sub-48 400m and continue your pace for another 100m. Nothing to sneeze at, but something that each and every 400m All-American year in and year out could do...

I'm not saying Mr. Arms is right, but the 500 has to be one of the most obscure events in the sport.
