IOC-member Gerhard Heiberg stated yesterday that the IOC may disallow individual athletes or countries that don?t conform to standard rules on drug testing to compete in the Olympics. If WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) does not agree on a standard set of rules, the IOC will create their own.
The leader of the IOC medical committee, Arne Ljungqvist talked about how the testers weren?t allowed to test specimens from earlier events at the Salt Lake City Olympics. Thus leaving Muhlegg and others with their medals they didn?t deserve.
Looks like many countries better shape up their testing frequency and actually punish offenders or they may be out of the Olympics.
