Webb and teammates receiving illegal benefits while still in high school?

I realize this may seem like a troll attempt, but the article, although old, is real. I just want to know if there's actually a chance that Webb and his team received illegal benefits. His relay teams were pretty good in high school.

Are you trying to protect Alan Webb? Receiving free things up to 100 dollars or something like that is considered illegal, but nobody cares if you're not LeBron James. I don't agree with you when you say this is what makes high school sports fun.

This is not a local pizza place, they traveled pretty far to get to this meet and the meet director paid, what I would assume for 25+ people, a very large sum of cash to treat all of these kids who have NOTHING to do with Alan Webb's mile race.

The HS record goes back to Ryun.
