After a solid XC season, after which I took a week completely off and another week easy, I started back into training. I put in 4 solid weeks, but then just after Christmas, my motivation went completely away. Part of it I think was a bit of overreaching - not quite overtraining, but a bit too much volume, considering I had just started up weights and was doing workouts. I've only run twice in the last week, and both were just short runs. What can I do to get my motivation back and get on track?
What to do when your mojo is gone?

One of the strongest ideas I've ever been introduced to is the concept of "Flipping the switch"
Just flip the switch dude. Just do it. You can tell your body to do anything. Stand up, right now, put on your shoes, and go run. Run hard.
Tomorrow, wake up early, take a shower, shave, dress in your best running gear, go for a 10 miler. Take another shower, have a good breakfast, and get dressed up. Hang out for a while, then go for another run, 4 miles this time. Shower, get dressed, and call up some of your friends to hang out.
JUST DO IT. -
Sounds like you are a giant gaping vagina.

I just turned 40. Starting in about five years, I will only get slower and slower. Until then, I can only hope to keep my times about what they have been for the past few years. That is losing your mojo.
Get your ass outside and run while you are young. You will miss what it feels like to be young when you are my age. -

That, and additionally realize that you may hit a period of injury where you will also miss your current ability to run hard and fast. -
Keep running. Just some easy running if you don't feel like working out. Running will often make you feel better when you are feeling bad. Plus, being out of shape won't make you feel any better.

Rebuild your confidence and enthusiasm by running smarter, not harder.

What you should 'do' is a really hot babe!! Do her and do her hard. Most importantly, remember to post some pics!!
-
So you can jerk off to them?

You mean like Steve Magness? -
Is mojo another brojo?
Maurice, maybe? -
No, not like Steve Magness and his imaginary arm action anomaly.

And do Wejo, Rojo, Menjo, and Mojo all train together at the same dojo?
But seriously, OP, you're done in. If I were you I would just give it up...
OR GET THE F*** OUT THE DOOR AND RUN!!! EVERY DAY IS A GIFT AND YOU have to, have to, HAVE TO!!! use it. If you don't run today, that's ok - but tell yourself this is your down day and it's only going to last one day. Tomorrow will be a good day and you'll be ready to go.
I don't run anymore - I can't - and I'm so thankful for every day that I did.
On a more serious note, if you are having worse thoughts than just not wanting to run - like thinking about ending it all - I suggest you see a counselor of some sort. Depression is a serious thing and there are many ways to fight it that a counselor will be able to help you with better than we on this forum. -
One time, I got sick of running and tried boxing. After a summer of getting my butt kicked by people, I started to miss being good at a sport. So I went back to running. And my hunger for winning was back. Sort of.

And afterward they get a cupajoe with Flojo. -
Do they go to Howard Johnson's for the coffee?

I got really good in high school by that making running more than a hobby, I made it part of my life. Like Brushing my teeth or taking a shower. 8-12th grade I never Imagined not doing a run, If I wasn't sick I ran, even if I stayed up all night studying I would still roll out of bed at 5:30 and go run before going to school, no matter what. So my advice is to make running a habit, like you would just do it without even thinking, "Well now I have to go out for a run because i want to be good."
