Last year my resolution was to quit smoking and thankfully I was able to quit that nasty habit. This year I want to focus on getting back into shape (not that I'm totally out of shape, I'm speaking more from a runner's perspective) but I don't want to try and set something I know I can't reach. I'll mostly just focus on training runs (and I wont run track this summer because I'll be playing lacrosse instead. Anyways, I think I would like to dip under 17:30 for a 5k (my PR is a 16:35 en route of an 8k)...it's been a couple years since I've raced anything competitively but I'll probably do some some fun run 5ks this spring/early summer.
Does anyone think this is unmanageable? I'm usually not totally adiment about setting timed goals but otherwise I feel like I might lose focus since I'm not really "competing."
