In my endless pursuit to try every gadget, device, and technique to improve my running, I'm considering running with a weighed vest, or while dragging a car tire behind me, or both. I've heard ofpeople doing this, but don't know if it works. Does this increase your speed, stamina ...etc?

That makes sense. I've had less injuries since I lost weigh, so I probably don't want to put it back on again.
I only tried it for one race, it seemed to slow me down.

He was a high-level Ironman triathlete, but I don't know if he was officially a pro or not.
Gee people, you can easily were a vest of only a few pounds/kilos and will wont effect your gait or technique too much and this will improve your power and efficency once removed.
To negate the chance of injury just use it on slower days on grass

I left the lights on and my car battery went dead. I had to push start it by myself. The first couple times were uphill until I reached a small downgrade.
It took about 10 minutes to recover. That was a great workout.
I think a parachute would be better than a tire.

I'd be leery of wearing weighted vests. Those extra pounds are going to add a lot of extra pounding to your ankles/lower extremities.
