This course looks like a lot of lose gravel. Lets say the ground is not wet, would you wear spikes or flats?

it's not that gravelly, but spikes won't do too much as the trail is super packed down

Anytime a race isn't on pavement I'm going to be wearing spikes, but that course is very flat (one minor hill). You could prob wear flats, but why? I always feel faster with spikes (course I've run real races in spikes vs hokey pokey road races in flats) and maybe the course is soggy or heaven forbid muddy, plus even a flat course has dirt or gravel that can slip. It's XC wear spikes, preferably the lighter track ones. Worked for me.
XC flats.
The elites will be spiking up, that's for sure.
what length spikes?
I ran 15 flat in flats, and broke 15 in 1/4" spikes in virtually the same shape.
Go with spikes.
Also if someone tries to cut you off on the narrow winding portion before and during the hill, give them some southern affection.
I used half mile and mile track spikes when I broke 15 btw.
the surface is almost like a track so you don't need xc flats even when its wet.
you only need xc flats on muddy or grassy surfaces that have intermittent road contact.
Don't be one of those 15:30 guys that are retards wearing xc flats. Be a sub 15 guy wearing track spikes. Be a winner.
spikes totally. I have run on that course both ways and imho spikes work way better.
