List of Most competitive Turkey Trot Races Taking Place in USA on Turkey Day?

1. Manchester Road Race - Manchester, CT USA
2. that race in San Jose where a bunch of elites are running - i think it's a 5K...(unless that guy was trolling about it)
3. Feaster 5, Andover, MA
I run in Southport, CT, usually 4,000 field with a few fast college kids on break.
We have a nice, fast race here in Fort Collins, CO. 2,000 runners. 4 miler, 22 minutes might get you top 35 overall and 20 flat might get you top 15. (racing at 5,000ft, so subtract 30-40 seconds at sea level) I've only lived here for about 4 years, but seems like about as competitive race as it can get on turkey day. Suppose to be around 0 degrees tommorow, not really looking forward to that!!
So if people make fun of you for running these because they are only "local turkey trots," tell them otherwise

Miami Turkey trot FTW!!!
Definitely not Miami. An average winning time in the low 15's is not elite by any means. That's a high school time!
Troy Turkey Trot, in Troy NY gets some decent runners, for a Turkey Trot at least. They even offer some prize money.
Dallas used to have a fast one...mid 23s for 8k?
Madison WI Berbee Derby. 2 years ago Solinsky,Tegenkamp and their coach Schumacher came in 1,2,3 in the 10K. 6000 people running this year.
Not this year at least, other than 1st place.

Dallas Turkey Trot was won by Scott MacPherson in ~39 min today (8mi). Wejo ran it a few years back also.
115th Buffalo Turkey Trot, oldest consecutively run road race in the US. This year over 11,000 finishers, with some quick times, first place almost broke 24 and there's no prize money!

It is a decent size race but I don't think it is exactly elite, low-mid 15s win it most years, depth is decent though.
You are correct; excuse me. He walked it and still came in with Solinsky and Jerry.
if you're an old man, it's the dana point turkey trot. i hear some 43 year old ran under 31 minutes for 10k...

This one has no prize money either. 6th place was 30:42. Weather: 38 degrees, with 14 mph wind!!
Looking at the results, you gotta bring your A+ game to compete in that race. 19 low in 10 degree weather at altitude? That is pretty damn good. I know the winning female has finished 2nd at Chicago marathon. So yeah, the FT Fun turkey trot is solid.
